Clarifier
The WESCOR clarifier utilizes inclined plate technology for efficient solid/liquid separation. The inclined plate clarifier design permits increased wastewater throughput while occupying a minimum equipment footprint.
Wastewater enters the clarifier by means of pump, or gravity flow. When necessary, wastewater is chemically pre-conditioned in the integrated flash & floc mix tanks to maximize floc size & settling characteristics. Conditioned wastewater then flows into the centre portion of the clarifier plate tank. Flow is distributed across the bottom of the plate pack in a quiescent manner to initiate the settling process. As the wastestream moves upwards through the plate tank, flocculated solids settle onto the plates, and then fall by gravity along the surface of the inclined plate to be collected in the lower sludge chamber. Solids collected in the sludge chamber are removed by pump through-out the operation at intervals determined by the control system. Clarified water flows out the effluent weir at the top of the plate tank.
